Are there any rabbit or squirrel hunters on here? I used to hunt both of those game a lot, but haven't been in a while. I usually hunt rabbits with a shotgun and squirrels with a .22 riflle.

That .32 caliber or a .36 caliber should do real good on squirrels. I haven't hunted any of them with a blackpowder rifle before, but I'm sure it would be a lot of fun. I had heard once that the old longhunters would sometimes use their .50 caliber for squirrel hunting. They would do what's called barking the squirrel which would be to shoot the limb or tree right under the tree and let the exploding bark knock the squirrel off the tree. That way they wouldn't destroy the meat.

It's legal to use your semi-auto .22 on squirrels here. Squirrel hunting with a .22 rifle is a lot of fun.

w00t! I'm glad to hear there are a few squirrel hunters down here in Alabama!
I recently moved down from the mountains of Virginia and grew up in the UpState mountains of South Carolina. Hunting bushytails has been a life long love of mine. I still have my Dad's old Marlin 39 that I learned to shoot with and hunted for years with a .32 cal flintlock. Man, that put a real new spin on the squirrel hunting!
I'm in Mobile now and need to find some decent hunting lands down here. Any ideas? I'm recovering from a spinal cord injury and am on disability, so expensive leases are right out.
Thanks!

The state of Alabama has got thousands acres of land just to the north of you in the delta region. I don't know about the squirrel population there, but there's a lot of wild hogs in that area.
